The initial request was very challenging: to develop a motor to be applied to a series of machines used for sanding marble processing. The constraints of the project to be developed were very important: limited motor dimensions, total absence of cooling because of the dimensions, and the use in a contaminated environment, which requires an IP65 degree of protection.

Electrical analysis: a FEM study was carried out taking into account all the project constraints, so as to arrive in a short time at an already working demo. With the use of FEM analysis, it was decided to use a copper rotor for the most severe use cases, keeping instead aluminum for standard conditions so as to have an optimization of costs

Testing bench: the test bench test allowed in a short period to have a rough definition of the final product to be submitted to the customer.

Execution times: from the project to the implementation, considering the urgency of the customer, the steps were short: in 2 weeks a first prototype was developed for the testing phase, which was followed by a pre-series made within 8 weeks from the first contact with the customer.
